Salisbury, MD: April 21, 2023 is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury, with artists and crafters lining the streets, live music outside, and tons of special activities. This month’s theme is Spring Things, and it’s a chance to celebrate the warming weather, new growth, and all things spring. From seed bomb giveaways to baby animals and pony rides with Funny Farm Petting Zoo, art shows, plant swaps and more!

Springtime wouldn’t be complete without a focus on plants and animals. Funny Farm Petting Zoo will be back this year on Main Street with baby animals and barnyard friends that everyone can enjoy, with pony rides available at an extra charge.

Plant lovers can participate in the Downtown Salisbury Visitor Center’s Houseplant Propagation Swap, where houseplant cuttings can be traded between other local houseplant enthusiasts. Kids can free take-home pollinator seed bombs. Breathe Interiors will also be hosting a Make Your Own Miniature Terrariums pop-up tent outside of their store on N. Division Street, with options for faux moss terrariums and living, succulent terrariums.

The N. Division Street stage will have lots to enjoy with live music from The Permilla Project from 5 – 8 p.m. The stage will also feature a Trash Fashion Show at 6 p.m. hosted by the Salisbury University Environmental Students Association. Models from the Salisbury School and Salisbury University will showcase beautiful, hand-made garments made completely out of recycled materials to inspire us all to rethink the trash we throw out each day.

Art lovers should be sure to stop by Salisbury Art Space and Salisbury University Art Galleries to enjoy brand new exhibitions at each location. Salisbury Art Space is hosting the opening reception for “Life Through the Lens”, a photography exhibition sponsored by The Whaley Family Foundation. “Life Through the Lens” explores life from different perspectives through the eyes of photographers local and abroad, with winning selections judged by Jesse Halpern of UMES and Jesse James Photography. Salisbury University Art Galleries will be hosting the 68th Biannual Senior Art Exhibition showcasing the incredibly talented work of SU’s Fine Art majors as they prepare for graduation.

Looking for Live Entertainment? The Brick Room will be hosting Poetry Readings from 5 – 7 p.m. with City of Salisbury’s Poet Laureate Nancy Mitchell. Check out The Mercury Agenda at Market Street Inn starting at 8 p.m., plus Brew River Restaurant and Bar is celebrating spring with a “Rock the Dock” dock bar party. Check out their brand-new dock bar with live music and a country DJ, DJ Tailor Made, starting at 6 p.m.

3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury | March 17, 2023


Salisbury, MD: March 17, 2023 is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury, and it is the perfect excuse to head out for a night downtown. This month's event is hosted indoors only, so that means no artists and crafters outside on the street, but there is still tons to do and see indoors. From shops and gallery shows, to restaurants specials and live entertainment there is always something for everyone to enjoy – and its Saint Patrick’s Day!

Salisbury Art Space will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and Spring with an all-new exhibition titled “Getting Green” featuring local artists interpretations of a spring, transition, rebirth and renewal in a wide range of mediums. The show is judged by Elvin Hernandez, whose work will be highlighted in the Foyer Gallery. Salisbury Art Space will be holding an opening reception for the show on 3rd Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. where award winners will be announced, and to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, limericks with Salisbury’s Poet Laureate Nancy Mitchell.

For more art, check out Salisbury University Art Galleries for the exhibition Brooke Rogers: Mura Vive / Living Walls. The exhibition features new paintings by Brooke Rogers, a well-known Salisbury University Professor of Art. The exhibition includes works based on his recent sabbatical trip to Rome and three-dimensional constructed paintings created-using cannibalized parts from previous works. This fascinating exhibition will be on display at Salisbury University Art Galleries | Downtown location through the end of March, so be sure to stop by!

Downtown Salisbury’s retail shops will be open late for 3rd Friday and the bars and restaurants will be ready to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Stop by SBY Home Décor for 15% off all items just for 3rd Friday. Many Downtown Salisbury restaurants will have special menus for St. Patrick’s Day.


Looking for live entertainment? Market Street Inn Restaurant and Pub will have Endless Ember from 6 – 9 p.m. playing all of your favorite tunes. Brew River Restaurant and Bar will have an entertainment double header with Best Kept Soul from 7 – 11 p.m. and DJ Bubbalou from 9 to close.

Salisbury, MD: February 17, 2023 is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury, and it is the perfect excuse to get bundled up and head out for a night downtown. This month's event is hosted indoors only - so that means no artists and crafters outside on the street - but there is still tons to do and see inside. From shops and gallery exhibitions, to restaurants and live entertainment there is always something for everyone to enjoy.

Salisbury University Art Galleries will host an opening reception for the all-new exhibition by Brooke Rogers: Mura Vive / Living Walls, on display through the end of March. The exhibition features new paintings by Brooke Rogers, a well-known Salisbury University Professor of Art including works based on his recent sabbatical trip to Rome and three-dimensional constructed paintings created-using cannibalized parts from previous works. The opening reception will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. and will include the performance of a new experimental jazz composition by Jerry Tabor.

Salisbury Art Space, located just downstairs from Salisbury University Art Galleries, will be open late for 3rd Friday with the 2023 Members Showcase on display highlighting works submitted by Salisbury Art Space members in all styles and mediums. It’s a great show to stop by and admire the wide range of amazing talent Salisbury has living right here in our community. From painting to photography, mixed media and 3-D, there will be a little bit of everything on display. Salisbury Art Space will be open until 8 p.m. with refreshments and kids crafts in the classroom.

Stop by Homes4Hope Therapeutic Solutions, located right on Main Street, who will be providing light snacks and drinks while visitors create and take home their very own gratitude jar.

Worthington Realty Group will have their doors open to showcase "the love of art and creativity" sponsored by Rewind Design LLC, sister company to Worthington. Tour the stunningly renovated space and design stylings of Broker/Owner/Designer Holly Worthington, and view an art showcase of their talented friends including artists Danielle Dombrowski of Quiet Riot Photography, John Mosher and Abbi Custis Art Studio.
