Salisbury, MD: November 18, 2022 is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury. November’s theme is Holiday Lights, complete with the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, special performances and lots of holiday cheer. It is also the last 3rd Friday held outdoors until spring, so it’s the perfect time to stock up on locally made arts and crafts for the gift-giving season.

3rd Friday coincides with the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony to be held on North Division Street starting at 5:30 p.m., with the tree lit at 6 p.m. The Ceremony will be kicked off with carols and dance performances by Feet of Fire Dance Company and followed by instrumental holiday music from the Bay Brass Ensemble. Join Mayor Day and Santa as the Holiday Tree is lit at 6 p.m. along with a menorah and kinara in anticipation of the upcoming Hanukkah and Kwanzaa seasons. Kids can have fun with 3-D holiday glasses, sign up for Gingerbread House Decorating or drop off their very own letter to Santa in the Letters to Santa mailbox right outside the Downtown Salisbury Visitor Center.

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will be hosting even more holiday cheer and musical performances. The Maryland State Boychoir will perform twice at St. Peter's on3rd Friday with a short 6:30 p.m. performance of Evensong followed by a second 7:30 p.m. performance of family-friendly sacred and secular music both with free admission sponsored by the St. Cecilia Guild. St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will also be hosting its Annual Holiday Marketplace & Bazaar full of home baked goods, tasty treats, homemade wreaths, and unique gifts.

Shoppers will find tons of amazing shopping options this 3rd Friday. Artists and crafters will fill the streets with locally handmade treasures and the Downtown Salisbury shops and restaurants will be open with special sales. Blackwater Apothecary will host a Holiday Market featuring local vendors and a photographer offering mini portrait sessions.

Homes 4 Hope LLC will celebrate its first 3rd Friday in its all-new 229 W. Main Street Counseling Facility with pictures with Santa, inspirational ornament decorating, “build a candy train” crafts for kids, hot cocoa and luminaries. Be sure to stop by and welcome them to Downtown Salisbury!

Salisbury Art Space will host the opening reception for “Contemporary Abstraction” featuring abstract artworks all submitted by local artists. “Contemporary Abstraction” is sponsored by the Whaley Family Foundation and judged by renowned artist Michel Demanche, whose work will on display in the Foyer Gallery. Salisbury Art Space will host the opening reception from 5 – 8 p.m. with refreshments and kids crafts in the classroom.

For more art, check out Salisbury University Art Galleries | Downtown Campus for the 67th Annual Senior Art Show titled “Resurgence” featuring highlighted work by graduating Salisbury University seniors on display now through December 9th. The work includes selections from Abidemi Wusu, Alexandria Castro, Brandon Scheeler, Caitlyn Waters, Danielle Giroux, D'Shon McCarthy, Gabrielle Swilley, Meara Pennak, Sean Jackson and Zoe Waters.

The Downtown Trolley will be running this 3rd Friday on a continuous loop from Salisbury University to Downtown to make sure it’s easy for students, faculty and staff to make it for all the festivities. Trolley service will begin at 4:45 PM in front of SU Academic Commons and will drop of on Camden Street by the SU Downtown Building and will loop between the two locations until 8:15 PM, completely free to ride.

Salisbury, MD: October 21, 2021 is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury with artists and crafters lining the streets, live music outside and loads of special events. This month’s theme is Super Heroes – so get ready for comics, cosplay and real-life super heroes. There’s always lots to do at 3rd Friday from art shows to live entertainment – so head Downtown for a night out!

3rd Friday gets super with a pre-Halloween opportunity for cosplay sponsored by 3rd Friday and Ocean City Comic Con. Anyone dressed up in a costume can spin the prize for a chance to win free comics and cool prizes. No costume, no problem – compete in feats of super strength for a chance to win.


Kids can enjoy Halloween crafts and pumpkin painting with the City of Salisbury Housing and Community Development Department and meet real life heroes from Salisbury Police Department and Salisbury Fire Department.


AMP Studios will be making sure things rock this 3rd Friday, with four bands of this years ‘rock heroes’ to come out of the AMP Studios program – KickStart, Basement Stairs, Plaza East and the Major Minors.


At 6 p.m., check out the Feet of Fire Dance Academy’s annual Halloween Dance performance, as they take over the street with their amazing talent and spooktacular costumes.

SBY Movies on the River closes out the season with a super special Halloween Double Feature with The Addams Family 2 (PG) at 7:00 p.m. followed by Ghostbusters: Afterlife (PG-13) at 8:45; both free to attend at Riverwalk Amphitheater - just bring your own blanket and popcorn!

Blackwater Apothecary is hosting a Witch's Market which includes local witchy & wonderful vendors from 5-8pm -- Featuring local vendors: Dramatic JuJu, the7thringco, Aphotic Hoopla, Whispering Witchery, The Occidental Herbalist, and Rite of Raven. Kaiju Records is celebrating “Rocktober” with 10% off all metal, punk and hardrock records.



Lilac Clothing Company is ready for 3rd Friday with 20% off all purchases of $50 or more, so it’s the perfect time to get those fall favorites you've been eyeballing. The Brick Room is celebrating with Happy Hour from 4 – 8 p.m. and world-class cocktails- TGIF! Brew River Restaurant and Bar is celebrating Feel Good Friday with live music with Uprizing Band from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. and DJ Bubbalou late night.

Salisbury Art Space presents Comic Art an all-new exhibition exploring the world of epic villains, heroes and fantasy characters through fine art submissions submitted by local artists and Salisbury Art Space members, judged by comic artist Bryan Tillman and sponsored by the Whaley Family Foundation. Comic Art highlights pop art, design and comic illustration and includes solo exhibition highlights from Brad Hudson and Elvin Hernandez and a special foyer gallery exhibition from judge Bryan Tillman. Salisbury Art Space will host an opening reception and awards ceremony during 3rd Friday, as well as, kids crafts in the art space and on Main Street.

Salisbury University Art Galleries | Downtown Campus will be exhibiting DUSTY FUNK: Black Tundra featuring the work of comics creator David Brame, a proudly black, afrofuturist scholar whose comic work explores issues of race and identity. DUSTY FUNK: Black Tundra is a series of mixed media Art Experiences based on an evolving set of dynamic illustrations that comprise this Psychedelic Afro Future Space Opera and will be on display now through the end of October.

Salisbury, MD: August 19, 2022 is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury with artists and crafters lining the streets, live music outside and loads of special activities. This month’s theme is Urban Artscapes - complete with chalk art, scavenger hunts and highlights on public art.

There’s always lots to do at 3rd Friday from art shows to live entertainment – so head Downtown for a night out!


3rd Friday will be celebrating the cityscape this month with chalk art, scavenger hunts, and a public art survey – just stop by the 3rd Friday table for more info and to pick up a gamecard.


Jerome Kelly & The Band will be electrifying the N. Division Street stage their blend of R&B, Pop, Gospel, Rock and Soul, complete with multiple original songs and a message of unity, acceptance, love and transparency. Jerome Kelly & The Band last performed at Salisbury’s inaugural Pride Parade, and now they are bringing their amazing talent and message of love to the 3rd Friday stage.


On Main Street, artists and crafters will line the streets with their wares and homespun creations. Salisbury Art Space will host the opening reception for their all-new exhibition “Local Folk that highlights the amazing work of Delmarva’s local folk artists, sponsored by the Whaley Family Foundation and the Whaley Children’s Center. “Local Folk” will be on display now through September 1st and was planned as a local highlight to coincide with the National Folk Festival coming to Downtown Salisbury the last week of August. Salisbury Art Space will also be hosting kids crafts in the classroom and pottery demos on Main Street, so be sure to stop by!

Looking for live entertainment this 3rd Friday? SBY Movies on the River is back this month with SOUL (2020) playing at Riverwalk Amphitheater with a showtime at 8:30 p.m. just bring your own blanket and popcorn!

Brew River is hosting not one but two bands this 3rd Friday with Mercury Agenda from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Dock Bar and Goldie’s Kreation from 8 p.m. to midnight inside. Revival is hosting “Dueling Ivories” an all-request rock and roll singalong with tickets on sale for $19 and showtime at 7:30 p.m.
