Salisbury, MD: 3rd Friday is pleased to announce another night of socially-distanced shopping in Downtown Salisbury, on Friday, September 18, 2020. Now that the State of Maryland has safely entered Phase Three, the event will begin to phase back in live music and additional activities.

This month’s theme is Urban Artscapes, with a highlight on architectural walking tours, new construction downtown, historic buildings, and Wicomico Goes Purple. An online virtual event will also be held, for those who choose to stay safer at home, complete with artist highlights and messages from the community.

This month’s theme is Urban Artscapes – so it’s time to go exploring! Stop by the 3rd Friday table to pick up walking tour brochures - with three different versions available, a Downtown Salisbury Historic Walking Tour, a Historic Newtown Walking Tour, and a Public Art Walking Tour, all fun of interesting info.

Explore the new progress on the Plaza, and stop in City Center Building - the whole place looks fresh with a new lobby, and cool signage on for Roadie Joe’s and shops like Lurking Class Skate Shop, Kaiju Records, and more.

Downtown Salisbury businesses are supporting Wicomico Goes Purple with a window decorating contest to bring awareness to the dangers caused by substance abuse and the resources available for treatment.

Wear purple to show your support, and check out all the purple storefronts downtown – with winners announced at 6 p.m. from N. Division stage. Downtown restaurants Mogan’s Oyster House, Brew River, Roadie Joe’s , Market Street and Mojo’s will all be serving non-alcoholic beverages in Wicomico Goes Purple souvenir cups that folks can take home.

While you’re exploring, be sure to stop in the lobby of One Plaza East, for its all new “NATURE AND BEYOND” Exhibit by local artist Petra Bernstein. The One Plaza East lobby can be accessed by the doors between Mogan’s Oyster House, and Angello’s Scoops, and features Petra’s works inspired by nature and captured along the Wicomico River. On view is a selection of water reflections, flower and plant close ups, multi layered images, along with traditional photography. All photographs are available for purchase, and Petra will be there in person on 3rd Friday.

Shoppers be sure to check out Lilac Clothing Company for a sidewalk sale with items up to 70% off and the release of their fall fashion! Check out their new face coverings along with mask chains and mask refresher spray. Plus, when you spend $50, you receive $10 in Lilac Bucks, to be used between November 15th – December 20th, right in time for holiday shopping.
