3rd Friday - Urban Artscapes | July 19

Celebrate “Urban Artscapes” during July’s 3rd Friday event, which is set for July 19.

Third Friday, a free arts event held in Downtown Salisbury on the third Friday of each month, runs from 5-8 p.m. This year, 3rd Friday has a new layout, including the Downtown Plaza (West Main Street from West Market Street to North Division Street), Division Street next to the parking garage, and Unity Square.

Third Friday includes arts, music, and crafters and vendors set up outdoors. Attendees are also encouraged to shop and dine at local businesses.

Enjoy live music by Sympaticocious at Unity Square and by Bill Zee the Party Shaker on the Plaza. Heart & Sole will do a live step dance performance on the Plaza at 6 p.m., and dancers from Footsteps Dance Academy will perform at Unity Square at 7 p.m.

Urban printmaking returns from last year. With urban printmaking, attendees can make art prints on fabric using textures found outside, such as storm drain covers. People can also make their own art by plein air painting at Unity Square or another location of their choice. Those who would like to take part in painting should bring their own paints, paper and easel if they have them; limited materials will be available while supplies last.

The Salisbury Art Space will host an opening reception for its Members Showcase during 3rd Friday from 5-7 p.m. The exhibit is sponsored by the Whaley Family Foundation. At the nearby Salisbury University Art Galleries | Downtown, visit the “Exploring Identity Through Diversity: Han-mee Artists Association” exhibit.

Lurking Class Skate Shop will host an all-ages show featuring Heartbent, Eric Raven and Silithyst for $15, with doors at 7 p.m. and music beginning at 8 p.m. MoJo’s will feature DJ Kenny Flight from 9 p.m.-1 a.m., and Brew River will host On the Edge from 6-10 p.m. and DJ Str8Up from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

Third Friday is requiring free registration for 2024 for vendors, community groups, performers and volunteers. Registration and more information can be found on our homepage. See the Facebook event here.
