3rd Friday - Wheely Fun | June 21

June’s 3rd Friday is sure to be “Wheely Fun,” with a theme that celebrates wheels of all kinds – bicycles, skateboards, roller skates and cars. This month’s 3rd Friday is set for Friday, June 21, from 5-8 p.m.

Third Friday is a free arts event held in Downtown Salisbury on the third Friday of each month. This year, 3rd Friday has a new layout, including the Downtown Plaza (West Main Street from West Market Street to North Division Street), Division Street next to the parking garage, and Unity Square.

For June, a Downtown Business District will be on South Division Street next to Unity Square, a car show will be on East Main Street near the Circuit Courthouse, and a mobile skate park will be set up on North Division Street between Route 50 and Main Street.

Third Friday will again feature two live music performances – the Shore Blues Band at Unity Square and Island Fusion on the Plaza.

Members of the Washington Street Warehouse will offer skateboarding lessons, and Chicks in Bowls Maryland will offer roller skating lessons. Attendees can also learn about and donate to a future skatepark in Berlin.

Salisbury’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, or BPAC, will offer its usual bike valet, watching bikes for free for people who ride to 3rd Friday between 5-8 p.m. BPAC will also offer group bike rides. There will also be an on-site “Mountain Bike Experience.”

Attendees can vote for their favorite car in the car show, and shop and dine at Downtown businesses.

Atlantis Tattoo & Art Gallery is running a flash tattoo fundraiser for the Salisbury Zoo from June 21-23 in which a portion of proceeds from $50-100 zoo animal-themed tattoos will benefit the Salisbury Zoo.

The Salisbury Art Space will host a 3rd Friday reception for its “Summertime Bluez” and “Pride Month with PFLAG” exhibits during 3rd Friday from 5-7 p.m. At the Salisbury University Art Galleries | Downtown, there will be an opening reception for “Exploring Identity Through Diversity: Han-mee Artists Association” from 5-7 p.m. during 3rd Friday.

See additional live music Downtown during 3rd Friday, too. Lurking Class Skate Shop will host Filth, Nine Dead, A Wake in Providence and Resistor for a show, with doors at 6 p.m. Market Street Inn hosts DJ Kenny Flight from 9 p.m.-1 a.m., MoJo’s hosts AJ the DJ from 9 p.m.-close, and Brew River will feature The Salt Life Band from 6-10 p.m., Best Kept Soul from 8 p.m.-midnight and DJ Str8 Up starting at 9 p.m.

Third Friday is requiring free registration for 2024 for vendors, community groups, performers and volunteers. Registration and more information can be found on our website homepage.
